The Story of Rotaract Club of AIMST Unversity
Students from Rotaract Club of AIMST University helped to get the lives of old folks living in Rumah Charis in Relau back together by sorting out the post-flood chaos. They organized a group to lend a helping hand to the effort managed by District 3300's Penang Clubs, RC Penang, RC Tanjung Bungah and RC Georgetown on 10th November 2017.
It was hard work for a full day, but it was worth it and as Rotaractor Tharishine reports, "It was very satisfying at the end."
Bravo, Rotaract Club of AIMST University.
The Rotaract Club of AIMST University was chartered on 15th May 2017. However, most of the students were on holiday, hence the club recently celebrated the Charter on 7th October. The Charter Certificate was presented and the Charter President Givianaa was installed by Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani President Sunil Shetty at a simple yet meaningful ceremony.
Members of the Board of Directors and charter members also received their pins. Rotaract Advisors are Ms Remya and Dr Parthiban.
President Sunil urged Rotaractors to serve their community and at the same time develop themselves for professonal improvement.
In attendance were PDG Dr Rajinder Singh and Ann, PAG Surendra Kaur of RC Teluk Intan, PE Clement of RC Kajang, Rotarian Sanjeev of RC Kampung Baru City Centre, PAG Sarkuru, PAG Arvind, AG Bernard of RC Bandar Sungai Petani.
Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18-30 to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service.
In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities.

The act of distributing food supplies is a mere way of reaching out and forming a relationship to dialogue and help our homeless friends re-integrate back into society through counselling, potential job opportunities and simply lending a willing ear that listens to them and their stories. In essence, it consist of a group of like-minded people reaching out and paying it forward. It is to break social stigmas over the homeless and underprivileged & to help our fellow Malaysians get back on their feet. The aim is to show our homeless friends some respect, afford them some dignity and to basically offer them hope. The ultimate goal is to assist our homeless friends to break out of the poverty/homelessness cycle. As such, we are constantly looking for assistance/sponsors to find sustainable solutions for this very purpose. Rotaract Club of AIMST University volunteered for this event which was held on the 28th of July 2017 at Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. Around 120 people were fed and given free clothes, toiletries and medicine. They provided services such as blood glucose checking, fundoscopy and provided Paracetamol for free for those who needed it. Besides that, the fifth year students also carried out general examination for selected patients.
The World's Greatest Meal is an ongoing project to raise funds for PolioPlus, an arm of The Rotary Foundation, which initiated the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Every USD raised is matched by USD2 from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, tripling your contribution.
We are THIS CLOSE to ending polio globally. From 300,000 cases a year in 1988, so far this year, there have been only 5 cases of polio detected globally (i.e. in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the only two countries with polio cases.)
This the pictorial story of WGM #3660. Rotarians, Rotaractors and friends in Malaysia, USA, India, Bangladesh and New Zealand participated to End Polio globally.
Take action. Contribute to PolioPlus here. Do contact us if you have.
