Afghanistan
One new wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) case was reported in the past week, bringing the total number of WPV1 cases for 2017 to five. It is the most recent case in the country, with onset of paralysis on 19 June from Kandahar.
Pakistan
No new wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) case was reported in the past week; the total number of WPV1 cases for 2017 remains three. The most recent case in the country had onset of paralysis on 11 June, from Killa Abdullah, Balochistan
So far, there have been 8 cases of wild polio this year.

Polio has been eradicated in Malaysia but we still need to vaccinate children against polio. Why?
Because as long as polio still exists in these two countries, it could spread again. The only way to ensure polio does not make a come back is to ERADICATE POLIO GLOBALLY.
