 President Gopaldhass led a delegation of 13 Rotarians from Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani to the 87th District Conference at Wyndham Acmar Hotel Klang today. It was an amazing day when Governor Bindi presented about the amount of good work that Rotarians are doing all around the District in the past 1 year. Rotarians Charter President Dato' Dr Subramaniam and Shanmuganathan delivered stretchers to AIMST University student hostels for emergency use.  ROTARY INTER-COUNTRY COMMITTEE ASEAN Charter Assembly in Singapore marks the establishment of an inter-country committee to improve co-operation amongst the Rotary Clubs and Districts in 10 South East Asian countries. Rotarians from RCBSP also attended events with the President. Rotarian Arvind, Thiaggu, Dr Bernard and spouse Nancy attended.   Rotary Club of Subang made a trip to Sungai Petani to present an award to our member Rotarian Dr Bernard Chan for his service as a "role model for compassion and inspiration to other Rotarians within his club and in Rotary. He serves with passion and sincerity without expecting anything in return while exemplifying servant leadership." Thank you, Rotary Club of Subang! 
In memory of the late Past President Roger Yue: 
Past awardees of Roger Yue Sunshine Award: 32 children were treated to KFC Buka Puasa on 25 April 2022. In a joint project by Micron Memory Malaysia and Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani, we visited Rumah Permata Kasih in Permatang Pauh and presented RM 5,000 worth of groceries, fresh vegetables, stand fans and a printer. The children, all girls aged 5 and 6 years old, received a set of tudung and jubah as well as duit Raya. The project was donated by Micron and their staff. Micron staff and Rotarians rolled up their sleeves to bring the items to the home. The smiles on the faces of the children tell the story.              The Rotary Foundation is Rotary International's service arm. It provides grants for projects that do good in the world. The Areas of Focus are: 1. Promoting peace 2. Providing clean water 3. Preventing and treating disease 4. Saving mothers and children 5. Supporting education 6. Promoting growth of local economies, and 7. Sustaining the environment. 90% of collections by The Rotary Foundation goes to beneficiaries throughout the world in a responsible and sustainable manner. Strict stewardship of the resources is a principle of The Rotary Foundation and projects require the partnership of international partner clubs. Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani is a strong supporter of The Rotary Foundation.    |
