Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani paid a visit to coach Mr Vijeekumaran's coaching session for Indian junior trainees at SJKT Kalaimagal to present football shoes. We hope this will enable more children to start football training at an early age.

The team trains every Saturday morning at SJKT Kalaimagal.

Coach Vijeekumaran is organizing a 9-a-side football tournament on 7th October.

Special thanks to Rotary Club of Alor Star for the shoes.

#thestreetfeedersKL : Rotaractors get into the action

The act of distributing food supplies is a mere way of reaching out and forming a relationship to dialogue and help our homeless friends re-integrate back into society through counselling, potential job opportunities and simply lending a willing ear that listens to them and their stories. In essence, it consist of a group of like-minded people reaching out and paying it forward. It is to break social stigmas over the homeless and underprivileged & to help our fellow Malaysians get back on their feet. The aim is to show our homeless friends some respect, afford them some dignity and to basically offer them hope. The ultimate goal is to assist our homeless friends to break out of the poverty/homelessness cycle. As such, we are constantly looking for assistance/sponsors to find sustainable solutions for this very purpose. Rotaract Club of AIMST University volunteered for this event which was held on the 28th of July 2017 at Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. Around 120 people were fed and given free clothes, toiletries and medicine. They provided services such as blood glucose checking, fundoscopy and provided Paracetamol for free for those who needed it. Besides that, the fifth year students also carried out general examination for selected patients.

Mr. Subramaniam Packrisamy

Distributes free vegetarian food to 60 patients daily at Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim Sungai Petani

Born on 15 August 1947, Mr. Subramaniam Packrisamy, a retired hospital attendant, has been distributing free vegetarian meals to underprivileged patients who seek outpatient treatment at Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim Sungai Petani for the past five years.

Fondly known as Hospital Maniam, Mr. Subramaniam has been a familiar and comforting face to hundreds if not thousands of underprivileged patients who seek outpatient treatment at the hospital here. Prompted to first start distributing free vegetarian meals due to a lack of vegetarian food for Hindu patients at the hospital, Mr. Subramaniam now serves patients of all races especially those who come from the outskirts of Sungai Petani and can’t afford a proper meal while waiting for their treatment or medicines.
