In an exciting collaboration between the Youth Chair of the Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani (RCBSP) and the Patani Jaya Futsal Club (PJFC), the PJFC Junior Cup 2023 is set to kick off on September 8th, 2023, at the Amanjaya Sports Arena in the district of Kuala Muda Yan (KMY). This remarkable futsal tournament for primary schools not only promises fierce competition but also aims to promote unity and community involvement among young kids. RCBSP's Generous Sponsorship: The Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani has shown its unwavering support for this initiative by sponsoring the main trophy for the PJFC Junior Cup 2023. A Grand Gathering of Young Talent: This year's tournament features a record-breaking 14 primary schools from the KMY district, with 24 teams comprised of 168 junior players vying for the coveted champion's trophy. A total of 40 matches will be played throughout the day, promising a day filled with thrilling futsal action. PJFC: A Pillar of Community and Youth Development: The Patani Jaya Futsal Club, founded in 2004 and registered under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kementerian Belia Sukan) in 2019, has been a driving force behind sports and community development in the region. With over 70 members, the club has made significant strides in promoting sports, particularly among the youth. PJFC's commitment to community service is exemplified through their consistent involvement in social projects, with a special focus on Tamil schools. In 2023, they introduced the PJFC Academy, dedicated to teaching football to kids under 12 years, emphasizing their dedication to youth development. A Milestone Achievement: The PJFC Junior Cup 2023 marks PJFC's first foray into organizing a futsal tournament for primary students at the district level. See you there! 54 students in rural schools around Baling, Kedah are receiving their spectacles from Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani. 12 pairs were delivered yesterday on 7 May 2023. Rotarians Moorthy, Sanmugam and Jeevan distributed school socks to 70 schools with the assistance of Penolong Pegawai Pendidikan Daerah Kuala Muda (Hal Ehwal Murid) En Mohamad Satir bin Hamid). Children at Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Khas Sungai Petani had a day full of fun and joy a the the centre's Sports Day, organized with Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani, led by co-ordinator Rotarian Kalian and President Thiaggu. Rotarians also joined in the fun in spite of the pouring rain. Seramai 61 orang peserta dari 19 sekolah dan pusat jagaan insan khas mengambil bahagian dalam pertanding mewarna yang diadakan di Amanjaya Mall, Sungai Petani pada 18 September 2022. YB Dr Robert Ling, Ahli EXCO Negeri Kedah hadir untuk bersama menyaksikan dan memberikan piala kepada pemenang. Beliau menaja pertandingan tersebut yang memberikan peluang untuk individu-individu khas menonjolkan bakat mereka bersama-sama menyambut Hari Malaysia penuh bersemangat. Sekalung budi kepada ibu-bapa, guru-guru dan petugas pusat jagaan yang meluangkan masa untuk membawa individu khas meyertai program berkenaan. Sekolah dan Pusat Jagaan yang terlibat: 1. Program ini diadakan setiap tahun oleh Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani kecuali 2 tahun pandemik. 32 children were treated to KFC Buka Puasa on 25 April 2022. In a joint project by Micron Memory Malaysia and Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani, we visited Rumah Permata Kasih in Permatang Pauh and presented RM 5,000 worth of groceries, fresh vegetables, stand fans and a printer. The children, all girls aged 5 and 6 years old, received a set of tudung and jubah as well as duit Raya. The project was donated by Micron and their staff. Micron staff and Rotarians rolled up their sleeves to bring the items to the home. The smiles on the faces of the children tell the story.
