Micron Malaysia partners Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani to support 5 homes in Penang and Kedah23/8/2020 Grocery shopping with Shammah Home, Butterworth under the Micron Malaysia Home Outreach project. This home's cash flow has been really badly affected as donations have reduced to almost zero, so they don't have the funds to buy their sundries. With funding support from Micron Memory Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Rotarian Arvind joins them when they go to buy their sundries and pays on the spot.
Rotarians Moorthy and Darmavathy brought much-needed relief for children in Ashramam Gurunatha and Grace Home for Children in Sungai Petani hard hit by Movement Control Order setbacks due to COVID-19
Funding was supported by a The Rotary Foundation Grant. Al-Syifak Nursing Home received help from the Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani, with funding from a The Rotary Foundation Grant. Homes and institutions that were dependent on public donations have been hard hit during the Movement Control Order.
Foodstuff and medical supplies were delivered by Rotarians Moorthy, Thiaggu and Arvind. Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani's COVID-19 relief projects continue with supply of groceries and household items to children's home, Rumah Kebajikan Anak Yatim Arutjyothi Vallalar Mandram. This project is supported by a The Rotary Foundation Grant.

Will knowing our "Business of Rotary" and moving from structure to function help us make the leap to membership growth in Rotary? American Ambassador to Malaysia, Her Excellency Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir, presented a cheque to the Rotary Cub of Bandar Sungai Petani for a project to provide face masks and hand sanitizers to schools in Sungai Petani and the surrounding areas.
Micron Malaysia, through The American-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) sponsored RM50,000 for the project. Micron Malaysia has sponsored RM470,000 for Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani's COVID-19 relief projects and a total of RM 2.6 million throughout Malaysia. American companies have donated more than USD 7 million to COVID-19 relief efforts in Malaysia. Mr Amarjit Sandhu, the Vice-President of Micron Malaysia, and and HR Director Murthy were also at hand to present the cheque. |
