RCBSP organised Deepavali shopping at Navin Emporium, Jalan Sekerat for children from Gurunathar Ashram on 14th October as part of their annual activities. More than 55 children were taken to experience shopping on their own. This event really brought so much of joy to the children, which is generally not their privilege. The children had the opportunity to pick their own clothes of their choice.
The members of the Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani were present to assist the children make the choice. A tailor was in attendance to modify the dresses if necessary. This shopping is very meaningful as it helps the recipients celebrate Deepavali. Towards the end of the shopping event the children gathered around the members to say a thank you prayers.
This is the 5th consecutive year this shopping is carried out and RCBSP hope to continue this event every year.
