Dr Saraswathi has been to 94 countries.
She is a public health medicine specialist with a vast experience in handling outbreaks but treasures a work life balance. She has worked with the Ministry of Health as Head of CDC Penang until her retirement in 2017 when she joined AIMST University. At AIMST, she is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine. She is the chairman of the AIMST COVID task force, and the Women's Empowerment Committee amongst others.
She is also active in Malaysian Medical Association, having completed two 2-year terms as chairman of MMA Penang Branch, a Deputy Secretary at National level and served in the Penang committee for over 20 years. She is also the current Chairman of the National Cancer Society Of Malaysia Penang Branch.
Her life passion is to travel. Not in mass travel, but small group or solo traveling. She has to-date covered 94 countries, and all continents including Antarctica and declares that her travel is for health!
