The Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani recently organised a state level colouring competition for special needs children and adults with learning disabilities like Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Global Development Delay, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, William’s Syndrome, Slow Learner and Dyslexia on Saturday, 13 July 2013 at Amanjaya Mall Sungai Petani.
The “Rainbow In My Heart Art Competition 2013” was organised by Rotary Clubs in different states all over Malaysia as part of our service projects that are geared towards serving the community. The Rotary Club of Bandar Sungai Petani hosted the competition for the first time ever in the state of Kedah since its inception three years ago. The competition attracted 135 participants from all over Kedah who were divided into two categories, aged 15 years and below and aged 16 years and above.
The competition in Sungai Petani was successfully organised with the following as the winners :-
Category A (15 years and below)
First Prize : Durga Dewi a/p Krishnan, Persatuan Kanak-kanak Khas Sungai Petani
Second Prize : Nur Mariam Bt. Abdullah, 13, Persatuan Kanak-kanak Khas Sungai Petani
Third Prize : Athirah Amani Bt. Mohamad Zairuddin, PDK Bedong
Category B (16 years and above)
First Prize : Soo Wai Mun, 16, Persatuan Kanak-kanak Khas Sungai Petani
Second Prize : Mohamad Asri B. Saad, 23, PDK Merbok
Third Prize : Wan Afifah Bt. Mohd Nasir, 17, PDK Bedong
All winners will be invited to participate at the National level competition at Bangsar Shopping Centre on 26 August 2013.
